Ed Wung:
Thank you for your explanation. Yes, I do agree with your point. The purpose of this video is most likely trying to describe how ridiculous KMT was, though switching some highly debatable scenes, back and forth.
However, what good a video can be, if it is so easily to be confused. Any audiences (both Helen’s and me) can also interoperate it in this way:
We (KMT) are so sorry for this tragedy after we promised that we will be good during our campaign. But it is mostly out of our control, since flood is a nature disaster. Also DPP was the one who supposed to complete the preventive engineering in the past 8 years. And yes, there might be some processes that we were not performing perfectly, such as 貓纜. However, since we (the head of counties and the president) have promised earlier before this disaster, that we will be good once we are in charge. So the conclusion at the end of video is “As promised, we will be totally responsible for taking care of the messy outcome from this un-controllable nature disaster. We will consolidate the required reform and move forward. TRUST US”.

C’mon, man, where is your sense of humor? Have you ever heard of the word “sarcasm”? It is so obvious that this video was cleverly created to ridicule Ma and the KMT. Can’t you see that it was using the harsh reality of today to contrast the beautiful but empty promises that Ma and his team made a year ago? Therefore, after one of the women KMTers uttered out the words “a simple decision you made today will change the future of your children”, the screen turned and showed a father using a makeshift float to transport his two daughters out of a flooded street. The implication of this is that after the voters of Taiwan made a wrong decision a year ago, they need to work so much harder today to move their children out of harms way. In another scene, after the Hsiao-Ten-thousand-nanometer-long pumped his fist into the air and proclaimed “we’ll give you better days ahead”, the screen turned and showed a stormy scene of Typhoon Morakot.
Please go back and watch that video again. But, hold your horses. Before you watch that video again, you’ll need to open that hidden window in your heart and throw out the LKK mentality of yours.:-)

Hi all:
I totally agree with Ed and Helen’s perspective. In this KMT produced video (and distributed through TVBS) it has tried hard to deliver an image that:
1) At the beginning only Ma and the head of officers from counties controlled by KMT are rescuing the victims of Typhoon,
2) Victims kneed down to the ground in front of Ma. And this gave a hint that DPP was the one caused the disaster, and Ma is the hero coming to rescue them.
3) At the end of this video, both Wu, Ma and VP Hsao walked out of some great buildings (with great pillars), having their fist in the air, and vowed that there will be a total reform (from this mess caused by DPP).
This core of this video is trying to hint that the失望的力量 came from the public towards the previous region, DPP, has eventually caused the current region, KMT gains the 改變的力量.
In addition to this, in around three weeks (9/11) KMT is going to sentence the result of the CSB case. This will further divert the public’s attention away from this disaster, and focus on how “Bad” is CSB. I will be not surprised some of the sentences that KMT will charge to CSB are something like he did very poorly with all the required preventive engineering, and it has caused this nature disaster.
In my opinion, this is a very evil video. China always produces the same type of video, lie to the end.

Dear Rocky,
I salute you and our colleagues for the wisdom and the quick bravery for holding back the evil 'horse' before it would run wild to blind our innocent-minded fellowmen's eyes and to deceive them again.
Thank you for bringing our attentions on this very typical cleverly orchestrated and truth-twisted propaganda of the KMT's. We could see how efficiently in such a short time amid the great tragedy, instead of concentrating on tending the tremendous urgent needs of the victims and the rebuilds, Ma and his team had spent their energies and time on producing this DVD commercial with only one thing in their mind - to cheat again with their fabricated promises and to win the voters' hearts, compassion and charity is not dwelling in their cruel hearts while the other people are suffering.
Perhaps what we could have learned from our devious adversaries is the fact of the importance of the co-existence for the survival as a group. That's why we didn't see their bashing or blaming on each other even when they had witnessed the wrong doings among their group as in the instance of Ma's embezzlement of the great amount of the public funds and plenty of many other horrendous crimes committed by their own KMT group. Instead, they diverted all the people's attentions on CSB, their rival, that day and night all you could hear and read were the un-proved corruption of Abien to the result of a guilty judgment on CSB by the public, not only from the swaying voters but also from some of the pan-green as well, in spite of the fact that after almost a year they are still not able to find the solid evidence to support their illegal detention of our former president. And that's the danger of exposing ourselves to the adversaries' propagandas no matter how strong we had thought we were on fighting against the subliminal influences from viewing the images and messages provided by the adversaries.
But with the great wisdom and courage that the Taiwanese possess, disregard of the personal recognition and pride, we stand together firmly to strive for justice and humanity, eventually we shall prevail !!
Helen

Rocky and all,
Gladly I have finally got it all right for the first time this time. Since it had never happened before, could it have been the reason -- my wife and I spent seven hours with Pastor and Mrs. Lu Chun-Yi 盧俊義牧師 of Taipei East Gate Presbyterian Church yesterday, driving them to Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio? I wonder. Ed Tanng may have the answer.
My conversations with Pastor Lu helped me view the YouTube this morning in the right light. I thought of how friends view friends' viewpoints, and how enemies view the enemies'. Read NATPA Forum and you'd know how friends view the friends' viewpoints (no enemies there). In the limited, secular view, truth in life all depends ....
Many thanks to all who have written in response to my caution.

I watched this clip again and have to denounce it. An anti-KMT, pro-TI organization sent it to me. I am asking them to denounce this clip too. Taitzer, thank you again. Rocky

Taitzer, thanks. I will watch it again in the shoes of a sway voter (not those of a deep greener). I would suggest others to do same. Rocky

Rocky, who made this YouTube? I'd urge all readers to go through the clip several times before they decide to send it out as you suggested us to do.
Nothing personal, but I have viewed the clip several times and have decided that I would not forward to anybody.
My reason: To consider that the clip can unilaterally be in favor of the opposition parties is only a wishful thinking -- to general populace in Taiwan, the important Morakot Typhoon subject is inadequately illustrated in the YouTube; such ambiguous production, including KMT big shots and their powerful words, may have undesirable results, I am afraid.
Please watch it at least one more time before you make your final decision. Let me know what you think.

I urge all to watch the clip on this link yourself and then send it out now to as many sway voters as possible. We need to start winning elections again. Fresh and shocking facts, presented well before elections, most effectively change people's minds.
